How to care for jackets made of suede leather?
The leather sanded on the surface is referred to as nubuck and suede. The velvety surface is pleasantly soft, but also, it is susceptible. This leather will become greasy and shiny if not adequately maintained and stored.
Care tips for suede leather
Only impregnate it with a spray, do not rub. Please don't wear a suede jacket in bad weather; it hates water. Do not grease, oil or polish. Otherwise, discoloration will occur. If there are greasy spots, there are special pads or brushes that you can use to roughen the leather again.
Soak up the moisture with a paper towel without rubbing it. You can remove water stains with a special rubber brush. An important tip here is to always brush in the direction of the grain. Common stains can be removed with proper leather cleaners made to clean such types. Work the dirty spot carefully and not too long; otherwise, there will be a hole. Cornstarch is another wonder against nasty grease stains. Dust the affected area with it, let it work in and brush it out. The starch dissolves the fat and protects the leather.
