‘Home Alone’ actor Macaulay Culkin gets emotional at Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling
Famous for portraying the enduring character of Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone film series, Macaulay Culkin was overcome with emotion upon being awarded a well-earned star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In addition to giving a moving eulogy for McCallister, the actor's on-screen mother Catherine O'Hara announced the honor, adding to the moment's specialness.
After O'Hara gave her moving statement for her real-life kid, Macaulay was observed wiping tears from his eyes during the reunion.
According to her, "Home Alone was, is, and always will be a beloved global sensation." "Macaulay Culkin is the reason families around the world can't watch and enjoy Home Alone together for a whole year."
She went on, "Yeah, he had a great screenplay and a great director, but Macaulay's flawless portrayal of Kevin McCallister is what gave us that little everyboy on an amazing adventure."
As she faced Macaulay, she remarked, "I know you worked really hard, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world."
"It seemed like we had ambushed a real little boy named Kevin to make a movie, and he just agreed to do it for fun," O'Hara said.
The child star's "sweet and twisted, yet totally relatable sense of humor" is something O'Hara complimented for bringing to every movie he works on, saying that it's a sign of intelligence in children and a necessary skill for survival at any age.
